Mechanical Designer

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Technologist with a fresh perspective and willingness to learn to join our growing team!

What is the Role:

The Mechanical Designer will work with our Guarding Technicians and customers to design ergonomic, compliant safety guarding for specific industrial equipment applications based on the technical information provided.

Duties include:

• Responsible for designing safety guarding based on supplied information.
• Translate hand-sketched and computer-sketched drawings and format them into Autodesk Inventor.
• Create detailed technical drawings of parts, weldments, assemblies, and customer installation instructions.
• Design and generate 3D CAD models of products using Autodesk Inventor.
• Detailing or creating part drawings, then creating . DWG/PDF files for ordering guard parts.
• Work with the Estimator and Guarding Technicians to develop solutions for custom guarding requirements to meet customer needs.
• Promote creative thinking for product improvement and/or new product development.
• Assisting in assembly processes may be required on occasion.
• Other assigned duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

• Graduate from Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
• Good knowledge of GD&T and design practices.
• Experience using Autodesk Inventor is an asset.
