In-room Dining Operator

Description:

Fairmont Royal York, a historic and iconic luxury hotel in Toronto with nearly a century of hospitality tradition, is seeking a part-time In-Room Dining Operator. The role is vital in delivering exceptional guest experiences by accurately taking and processing food and beverage orders, ensuring prompt communication with service teams, and maximizing sales through upselling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders, relaying details to captains and servers for timely delivery.

• Maximize sales by upselling menu items.

• Provide exceptional guest service, promptly and professionally addressing guest concerns.

• Perform opening and closing duties per departmental standards.

• Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, specials, dietary restrictions, and answer inquiries.

• Ensure guest special requests are met.

• Maintain a pleasant, helpful attitude with guests, colleagues, and supervisors.

• Keep a clean and safe working environment, report malfunctioning equipment.

• Organize daily tasks such as handling amenities, pre-orders, and daily orders.

• Follow telephone techniques and department procedures.

• Maintain stationery and other supplies for the department.

• Adhere to all safety, hygiene, alcohol handling policies, and LQA standards.

• Work weekends, holidays, and shifts as scheduled.

• Perform any other assigned tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Prior food and beverage experience.

• Cash handling and POS proficiency.

• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

• Fluent in English with excellent computer skills.

• Ability to multi-task.

• Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, and navigate stairs frequently.
