Description:
Installations
Racks and stacks customer equipment
Reads installation plans (Visio Drawings / Spreadsheets) and implements installation accordingly
Installs circuits requiring advanced fiber terminations
Queue Management
Determines work priorities from the Oracle queue and ensures adherence to all commit times
Testing/Troubleshooting
Troubleshoots switched / multiplexed / media converted circuits; escalates to, and works with networking group, as needed.
Works with customers to troubleshoot issues
Cross Connects
Installs/tests/modifies cross connects per SOPs and ensures proper cable management of: coax, fiber, twisted pair copper, and intra-building cross connects
Installs and tests advanced cross connects circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.)
Documentation/Reporting
Maintains detailed written records of all work activity
Projects
Designs and leads cage / infrastructure modification projects
Training
Completes all assigned training in a timely manner
Customer Management
Supports customer satisfaction through timely and precise order execution
Qualifications
1+ year of experience with Layer 1 and Layer 2 IT installations or equivalent education
High School Diploma
Must be able to work night shift in technician rotation when necessary
The ability to obtain a DoD security clearance is required
Secret clearance is strongly preferred
Candidates without a security clearance must be willing to undergo a Tier 3 federal background investigation that Equinix will facilitate
