MatchBox is hiring a Controller – Capital Projects for a confidential, well-established organization in British Columbia. Based full-time in North Vancouver, this senior financial leadership role is central to overseeing the financial performance and governance of high-value capital initiatives. Reporting directly to the VP Finance, the Controller will drive strategic financial planning, accurate reporting, forecasting, cost control, and enforce robust governance practices around large-scale capital projects.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a seasoned CPA to join a collaborative and mission-driven organization known for operational excellence and a long-term vision. The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping financial systems and processes related to infrastructure expansion and capital growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all aspects of capital project financial strategy, reporting, and cost control.

• Collaborate with project managers, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and accuracy in financial operations.

• Enforce compliance with IFRS standards and internal financial governance practices.

• Support strategic planning and capital budgeting processes.

• Enhance financial systems and reporting, ideally using JD Edwards.

• Act as a financial liaison and governance partner across departments.

Key Qualifications:

• CPA designation and a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).

• 10+ years of senior financial experience in capital project environments.

• Deep expertise in IFRS, capital accounting, AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure), and project control.

• Proven leadership in cross-functional teams and enhancing financial systems.

• Experience with JD Edwards is a strong asset.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive base salary of CAD 160000 – 180000/year (CAD 13333 – 15000/month).
