Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be a key contributor to the accounting team, reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Lead and the Controller. This role ensures timely and accurate payments to vendors, reconciles accounts, and supports process improvements for efficiency. The position requires on-site work in Vancouver for the first six months, after which a hybrid arrangement is available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, code, and post vendor invoices and employee expense claims.

• Enter contractor labor and expenses accurately.

• Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal staff.

• Reconcile and resolve accounts payable discrepancies.

• Maintain and reconcile high-volume credit cards.

• Perform bank reconciliations.

• Prepare and process weekly payment runs.

• Participate in onboarding, training, and mentoring of junior staff.

• Coordinate timely and accurate month-end close.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable.

• Experience with processing payments, bank, and/or credit card reconciliations.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking skills.

• Effective written and oral communication in English.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Experience with BST accounting software or Concur Expense is an asset.
