Kyowa Kirin, a rapidly expanding global specialty biopharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced Oncology Account Specialist for Western Canada. The Oncology Account Specialist will serve as a key representative for Kyowa Kirin Canada (KKCA), leading strategic engagement with hospital systems, cancer care centers, and healthcare providers across Western Canada. This individual will establish and maintain relationships with oncology networks, referral systems, and key opinion leaders to enhance product access, education, and patient outcomes. The role involves strategic account planning, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate clinical insights into impactful sales and partnership outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic account management and sales plans for hospital systems, oncology centers, and referral networks across Western Canada.

  • Identify and engage key stakeholders—including oncologists, dermatologists, pharmacists, and healthcare decision-makers—to strengthen Kyowa Kirin’s presence in oncology and rare disease markets.

  • Drive effective Cancer Care Center planning and management, mapping patient flows and referral pathways to ensure optimal treatment access.

  • Conduct compliant and ethical communications, educating healthcare professionals on approved therapeutic information and disease management best practices.

  • Collaborate with Market Access, Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs teams to support formulary inclusions, protocols, and pathway integrations.

  • Monitor and analyze product performance metrics and develop actionable business plans for continuous improvement.

  • Support the multidisciplinary care team (including hematologists, dermatologists, radiation oncologists, nurses, and pharmacists) to ensure patient continuity and treatment adherence.

  • Maintain current knowledge of oncology standards of care, reimbursement environments, and emerging clinical trends.

  • Demonstrate commitment to compliance with federal/provincial laws, Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC) Code of Ethics, and internal company policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business (required).

  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 3 years in oncology, rare disease, or institutional account management.

    • Proven track record of sales success, clinical expertise, and effective business planning.

    • Strong knowledge of the Canadian healthcare landscape, payer systems, and formulary processes.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM tools.

    • Strong data analysis, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Non-Technical Skills:

    • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership abilities.

    • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and work independently in a remote environment.

    • Strong work ethic, integrity, and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving organization.

    • Willingness to travel (approx. 50% overnight travel required).

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Primarily remote position with significant travel within assigned territory.

  • Extended computer use and professional interactions with clients and internal teams.
