Construction Manager

Description:

FCC Construcción (FCC Canada), part of the FCC Group, a global leader in engineering and infrastructure headquartered in Spain, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the North or South section of the new Cross Fraser Partnership project in Vancouver. This project involves the construction of a new eight-lane immersed tube tunnel replacing the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99, complete with dedicated transit lanes and an active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.

Since 1997, FCC Canada has played a vital role in delivering major infrastructure projects across Ontario and British Columbia, including subway expansions, highways, tunnels, and large-scale civil works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all construction activities for assigned project section, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements

• Develop and manage construction schedules, budgets, and logistics plans

• Direct site works including excavation, piling, foundation construction, bridge erection, and soil improvement activities

• Lead design-build and construction management processes, including pre-construction phases and design reviews

• Coordinate with owners, consultants, engineers, and architects to provide real-time recommendations and ensure constructability

• Manage project deliverables such as value engineering, risk management, scheduling, and cost analysis

• Implement rigorous quality assurance and quality control protocols for both land and marine works

• Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and environmental regulations, including habitat protection and pollution prevention

• Lead multidisciplinary teams, motivating staff to achieve project milestones within budget and on schedule

• Prepare detailed reports, estimates, and feasibility studies for construction works

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Construction Management, Law, or related field

• PMP and P.Eng. certifications preferred

• Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience, with proven leadership in large-scale civil and infrastructure projects

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools (MS Project, Gantt charts)

• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
