Concept Artist

Description:

Reflector Entertainment is seeking a Concept Artist Intermediate to join their Montreal studio. The role involves working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to create innovative visual experiences for renowned properties from Bandai Namco. The position reports directly to the Art Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce concept art in alignment with the project’s visual style, including environments, characters, and UI elements.

• Maintain consistent artistic style as per Art Director’s guidance and implement revisions as needed.

• Learn from senior team members and apply knowledge to daily tasks.

• Participate in problem-solving of artistic challenges under supervision of senior artists.

• Communicate visual intentions clearly to team members.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of artistic workflows.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure artwork meets team expectations.

• Create environmental concepts and game mockups with attention to lighting and post-processing effects.

• Support Lead Artist or Art Director in related tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

• Certificate or diploma in Design, Applied Arts, Fine Arts, or related field.

Professional Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.

• Participation in at least one published game as an illustrator.

• Knowledge of data management software (e.g., Perforce).

Technical Skills:

• Strong drawing and conceptualization abilities; adaptability to defined style.

• Proficiency in Photoshop and digital illustration; knowledge of 2D and 3D software.

• Strong observation and research skills.

General Skills:

• Good understanding of video game industry and development processes.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both French and English.
