Community Recycling Centre Operations

Description:

The Region of Peel is hiring a Sub-Foreperson for CRC Operations to provide on-site supervision and operational management at Community Recycling Centres and related facilities. This role involves ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant operations in alignment with Regional standards, while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise staff and contractors to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations at CRC sites.

• Assign duties, train staff, and oversee daily site activities including waste transfer, compost/curing facilities, and equipment operations.

• Conduct inspections, safety audits, and investigate complaints or operational issues, recommending solutions where possible.

• Ensure vehicles undergo proper daily checks and maintenance activities.

• Maintain accurate records, reports, and forms related to site operations.

• Report hazards and apply health & safety precautions consistently.

• Operate various manual and powered equipment as required.

Work Schedule:

• Week 1 (36 Hours): Tues: Alternate Day Off; Wed–Sat: 8 AM–5 PM

• Week 2 (44 Hours): Tues: 8 AM–4 PM; Wed–Sat: 8 AM–5 PM

Additional Information:

• Preference will be given to qualified candidates already in the CUPE 966 Public Works bargaining unit.
