The Senior Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the release of software applications across various environments. They ensure releases are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to the business. They lead and mentor a team of release engineers and collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to streamline the release process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Release Planning: Develop and maintain a comprehensive release calendar, considering project timelines, resource availability, and business priorities.
- Coordination: Facilitate communication and collaboration between development, testing, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient releases.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with releases, including technical issues, resource constraints, and communication breakdowns.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the release management process to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and accelerate time to market.
- Automation: Implement and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline the release process and reduce manual effort.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive release documentation, including release plans, deployment procedures, and rollback plans.
- Communication: Communicate release status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of release engineers, providing technical expertise and support.
- Compliance: Ensure releases comply with relevant regulatory requirements and security policies.
- Post-Release Support: Provide post-release support and troubleshooting to resolve any issues that arise.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in release management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Experience with release automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Chef).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Experience managing releases in complex environments.
