The Society for Enterprise Education and Development (SEED) is a registered charity committed to empowering young Nova Scotians through education, training, and employment support. By fostering economic participation, self-reliance, and personal growth, SEED works to break down barriers and create inclusive, community-driven pathways to success.
SEED is currently seeking passionate and community-minded leaders to join its Board of Directors. Board Members will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization and ensuring its long-term impact in supporting youth development across Nova Scotia.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend quarterly virtual Board meetings (approximately 2 hours each).
Provide strategic oversight and guidance to SEED’s leadership team.
Participate in Board committees or contribute to special projects as needed.
Act as an advocate and ambassador for SEED within the broader community.
Serve a renewable three-year term, contributing to organizational governance and sustainability.
Who We’re Looking For:
SEED values diversity and is particularly welcoming candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Finance, Accounting, or Audit (CPA designation is an asset).
Legal expertise, particularly in corporate law, governance, or non-profit compliance.
Education, youth services, or community development.
Governance, strategic leadership, or public sector collaboration.
Additionally, individuals with lived experience of the barriers SEED aims to address are deeply valued.
