RSM Canada, a global leader in professional services for the middle market, is seeking a driven Assurance Senior Associate to join its Real Estate team in Calgary. As an Assurance Senior Associate, you will be responsible for managing audit engagements, supervising junior team members, and ensuring high-quality deliverables aligned with RSM’s Global Audit Methodology.
Deliver timely, high-quality audit and assurance services that exceed client expectations.
Coordinate audits of complex financial statements, related disclosures, and other deliverables.
Develop a thorough understanding of client business models and industry-specific needs.
Lead and supervise audit associates during engagements, ensuring productivity and adherence to project timelines.
Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to senior management and partners.
Assist in drafting client deliverables such as management letters, deficiency reports, and board communications.
Apply RSM’s Global Audit Methodology effectively in client engagements.
Address client concerns proactively and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication.
Recognize and resolve accounting and auditing issues, including revenue recognition, business combinations, and debt/equity accounting.
Contribute to team growth by providing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Participate in continuous professional development through ongoing education and certifications.
Be willing to travel up to 25% of the year for client engagements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in public accounting, preferably within assurance or audit.
Solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and GAAS regulations.
Active or in-progress CPA Certification (in good standing).
Demonstrated experience managing audit engagements as an in-charge.
Strong attention to detail with analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work under supervision while taking initiative when required.

Salary Range: CAD 58,500 – 94,000 annually (CAD 4,875 – 7,833 per month)
