Description:
The Department of Human Anatomy & Cell Science at the University of Manitoba invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, commencing September 1, 2025 (or a mutually agreed date). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to anatomy teaching across a range of health science programs, integrate various anatomy subdisciplines, and engage in research activities within educational scholarship.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach anatomy across health science programs such as medicine, dentistry, rehabilitative sciences, and more.
Integrate different anatomy subdisciplines into teaching.
Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and educators.
Engage in the department’s research group focused on educational scholarship.
Participate in administrative/service responsibilities, including committee work and outreach activities.
Promote and expand the department’s national and international visibility in teaching and learning.
Qualifications:
A PhD and/or M.D. degree with a strong record of teaching excellence in human anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology, or embryology.
Demonstrated experience in anatomy teaching using innovative methodologies like dissection, case-based learning, technology-assisted learning, online learning, and flipped classrooms.
Research experience in medical education and clinical science journals.
Ability to establish and lead a collaborative research program with potential for funding.
Administrative and leadership experience in course coordination, academic committees, and curriculum development.
