Description:

The Department of Human Anatomy & Cell Science at the University of Manitoba invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, commencing September 1, 2025 (or a mutually agreed date). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to anatomy teaching across a range of health science programs, integrate various anatomy subdisciplines, and engage in research activities within educational scholarship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach anatomy across health science programs such as medicine, dentistry, rehabilitative sciences, and more.

  • Integrate different anatomy subdisciplines into teaching.

  • Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and educators.

  • Engage in the department’s research group focused on educational scholarship.

  • Participate in administrative/service responsibilities, including committee work and outreach activities.

  • Promote and expand the department’s national and international visibility in teaching and learning.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD and/or M.D. degree with a strong record of teaching excellence in human anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology, or embryology.

  • Demonstrated experience in anatomy teaching using innovative methodologies like dissection, case-based learning, technology-assisted learning, online learning, and flipped classrooms.

  • Research experience in medical education and clinical science journals.

  • Ability to establish and lead a collaborative research program with potential for funding.

  • Administrative and leadership experience in course coordination, academic committees, and curriculum development.
