Analysis Analyst

Description:

Cogeco Communications Inc., a leading telecommunications and media company, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Analyst FP&A to join their operational cost management team in Montréal, QC. This hybrid position involves acting as a key business partner, supporting multiple departments in optimizing OPEX costs, and serving as a finance resource for workforce capital management across Canadian and U.S. entities.

The Analyst FP&A will collaborate closely with operational teams, the performance measurement team, and the senior FP&A analyst to ensure effective cost control, accurate forecasts, and meaningful financial insights. This role requires strong business acumen, the ability to analyze complex operational challenges, and the capability to translate financial data into actionable strategies for enhancing organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly OPEX variance analysis with departmental management to identify cost drivers and operational issues impacting financial forecasts.

• Collaborate with operational teams and the performance measurement team to implement cost optimization actions.

• Develop dashboards to track the performance and impact of implemented actions.

• Build strong business relationships and support initiatives to ensure costs are optimized or represent the best investment for the company.

• Contribute to budgeting processes by interpreting OPEX data to prepare insightful presentations for decision-making.

• Identify risks and opportunities related to OPEX expenses through deep business understanding.

• Participate in special projects and provide ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (CPA required).

• 3–7 years of experience in financial analyst roles.

• Strong business acumen with excellent analytical and synthesis skills.

• Bilingualism required (French and English).

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deliverables.

• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google suite tools.

• Knowledge of workforce capitalization standards is considered an asset.
