Aircraft Tow Operator

Jazz Aviation LP is actively hiring for a full-time Aircraft Tow Operator at their Toronto location. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in aviation and outdoor operations, especially those skilled or interested in operating heavy equipment and airport ground vehicles.

As an Aircraft Tow Operator, your primary role is to support aircraft movements on the ground by safely towing and positioning aircraft between gates and maintenance hangars using designated taxiways and runways. You’ll maintain constant radio communication with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and internal operations staff, ensuring safety and compliance throughout the process. The position involves working closely with airport ground equipment such as jet bridges, gate power units, and mobile tow vehicles.

This is a critical front-line operations role and contributes significantly to the overall safety and efficiency of airport and airline functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tow aircraft and perform brake-riding operations

• Maintain professional and clear two-way radio communications with ATC and operations

• Operate ground handling and tow equipment, including jet bridges and gate support units

• Provide mobile support for aircraft setup and tow team coordination

• Perform tasks with adherence to safety protocols and Jazz's Safety Management System (SMS)

• Follow all company policies, airport regulations, and safety procedures

• Support other airport ground operations duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver’s license

• Demonstrated ability to operate ground vehicle equipment

• Ability to obtain and maintain RAIC (Restricted Area Identification Card)

• Ability to obtain and maintain ROC (Restricted Operator Certificate – Radio License)

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision

• Prior experience with heavy equipment or multi-axle trailers is considered an asset
