Marks Supply Inc., a trusted name in HVAC, hydronics, PVF, and plumbing solutions since 1962, is seeking a Warehouse Manager for its Kitchener, Ontario branch. The Warehouse Manager will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including shipping, delivery, inventory control, product transfer, and merchandising. This position requires a proactive leader dedicated to maintaining safe, efficient, and accurate product flow while optimizing warehouse performance and promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.

  • Monitor and analyze warehouse processes to ensure efficiency, profitability, and accuracy.

  • Audit operations regularly to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders with zero shipment errors.

  • Collaborate with other warehouse supervisors and department leads to streamline workflows and achieve performance targets.

  • Schedule and manage staff to maintain adequate coverage at all times.

  • Track and report on payroll details, including overtime and absences.

Team Leadership

  • Provide daily direction and coaching to warehouse staff to improve productivity and engagement.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to align objectives and communicate company priorities.

  • Ensure all employees complete mandatory safety and operational training modules.

  • Enforce company policies consistently to foster a positive, safe, and compliant workplace.

  • Conduct performance reviews, develop improvement plans, and handle employee issues with professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Encourage continuous learning and development to enhance team capabilities.

Safety & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary safety advocate for the warehouse, ensuring full compliance with company and regulatory safety policies.

  • Conduct and document daily safety inspections, promptly addressing and correcting hazards.

  • Report all accidents, injuries, or safety incidents immediately and assist with incident documentation.

  • Promote a strong safety-first culture, emphasizing alertness and adherence to procedures in a safety-sensitive environment.

Collaboration & Administration

  • Maintain effective communication with customers, branch teams, and internal departments.

  • Ensure proper documentation and accuracy within the company’s computer systems and warehouse management tools.

  • Participate in strategic and operational projects aimed at enhancing warehouse performance and efficiency.

  • Execute additional responsibilities and assignments as required by the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent (post-secondary education in logistics or supply chain preferred).

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of warehousing or supply chain experience.

    • At least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity within a warehouse or distribution center.

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of quality systems (ISO preferred), LEAN, and Six Sigma principles.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    • Experience with warehouse technologies, HRIS tools, and communication systems.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

    • Proven ability to train, mentor, and manage teams effectively.

    • Commitment to safety, accuracy, and operational excellence.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Work involves regular physical activity, including:

    • Lifting 25–50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.

    • Operating forklifts and material handling equipment for up to 6 hours per day.

    • Performing bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and pushing/pulling up to 300 lbs.

  • Must maintain visual and physical alertness to ensure safety and accuracy throughout the shift.

  • Standard workweek of 40–43 hours, with occasional extended hours based on business needs.
