Supervisor Operations

Purolator Inc., Canada’s leading integrated freight, package, and logistics provider for over 60 years, is seeking a Supervisor Operations to oversee unionized staff at its Toronto Freight facility in Etobicoke, ON. This role is central to ensuring operational excellence, fostering a positive team environment, and delivering on Purolator’s promise of reliable logistics solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for daily supervision of employees, workflow management, compliance with operational standards, and performance improvement through coaching, mentoring, and recognition. Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of unionized employees, ensuring operational tasks and compliance are maintained.

• Assign and monitor workloads to keep daily operations running smoothly.

• Achieve operational objectives and performance metrics outlined in the company’s scorecard.

• Conduct performance reviews, coaching, counseling, and recognition to continuously improve standards.

• Communicate and implement company policies, procedures, and programs.

• Complete reports, documentation, and other administrative tasks as required.

• Create and maintain a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and employee engagement.

• Collaborate with management to enhance workflow and resolve operational challenges.

• Uphold workplace safety, efficiency, and compliance standards.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience supervising unionized staff.

• Strong organizational, motivational, and communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to balance multiple responsibilities and meet strict deadlines.

• Strong computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.

• Flexibility to work night shifts (11:00pm – 7:00am).

Working Conditions:

• Office and warehouse environment

• Night shift schedule: 11:00pm – 7:00am

• Reports directly to Manager, LTL Operations
