Senior Software Engineer

Cozey, a rapidly growing Canadian startup revolutionizing the furniture industry in Canada and the U.S., is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its dynamic technology team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of backend systems, be passionate about solving complex problems, and play a critical role in designing and scaling the tech infrastructure of Cozey’s backend operations. As part of this role, you will be given the autonomy and tools to develop, lead, and execute innovative software solutions that directly impact the company’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive end-to-end backend development: coding, testing, debugging, and deploying impactful features

• Support and scale DevOps infrastructure to ensure performance and reliability

• Collaborate closely with the CTO and key stakeholders to design and build solutions for operational improvement

• Mentor and lead junior developers, maintaining high coding standards and integrity

• Enhance and optimize backend processes that power Cozey’s logistics, inventory, and order systems

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years experience with Node.js and associated frameworks

• 5+ years experience in web development using JavaScript, React.js, and Next.js

• 2+ years working with Shopify & Shopify Plus, including strong proficiency in Shopify APIs (Storefront, Admin)

• Experience in developing large-scale enterprise applications

• Familiarity with DevOps, Redis, and queuing systems is a plus

• Expertise in Shopify's technical limitations, Admin System, and e-commerce workflows

• Strong problem-solving skills with a resourceful and independent builder mindset

• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities
