Senior Server Administrator

Description:

The Salvation Army in Canada is hiring a Senior Server Administrator for its hybrid Toronto office. This full-time role is central to configuring, managing, and optimizing server systems, applications, and hardware across the organization’s enterprise IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will automate processes using PowerShell or Microsoft Graph and ensure the ongoing reliability, security, and scalability of corporate server environments.

As a key member of the IT infrastructure team, the Senior Administrator will streamline operations, manage upgrades, oversee backups and recovery protocols, and respond to help desk queries. The role also includes developing IT policies and disaster recovery procedures while mentoring junior IT staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure server systems, applications, and hardware for optimal performance

• Automate administrative tasks using MS Graph and PowerShell

• Support the availability and scalability of corporate IT infrastructure

• Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and disaster recovery documentation

• Research hardware/software for procurement and development

• Manage servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, and encryption systems

• Administer equipment upgrades and perform routine system audits and recovery

• Respond to help desk issues related to servers and network resources

• Provide on-call and after-hours support on a rotational basis

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure support in a complex, enterprise setting

• Strong experience with scripting using PowerShell and MS Graph

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to define problems, analyze data, and reach sound conclusions

• Reliable and committed to customer service excellence

• Effective team player with collaborative work experience

• Willingness to work onsite in Toronto 1–2 times a week

Compensation:

• Salary range: CAD 81,170.48 to CAD 101,463.10 per year

• Maximum salary: CAD 121,755.72 per year

• Monthly equivalent range: CAD 6764.20 to CAD 8455.26

• Final offer dependent on market, internal equity, experience, and qualifications
