Senior Server Administrator

Description:

The Salvation Army in Canada is looking for a Senior Server Administrator to join their IT team in a hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area. This is a pivotal position responsible for configuring, deploying, and maintaining server systems, applications, and hardware to ensure enterprise-level performance and reliability.

The Senior Technology Infrastructure Administrator will lead technical operations that involve scripting, automation, and proactive systems management to support the organization's mission-driven work. This role includes collaboration with business units, support of disaster recovery protocols, system upgrades, audits, and troubleshooting server/network issues. The administrator will also mentor junior team members and participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and manage server systems, applications, and hardware to achieve peak performance

• Automate and streamline IT tasks using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph scripts

• Support availability, reliability, and scalability across enterprise-level infrastructure

• Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and training for disaster recovery and network administration

• Research and recommend server/network hardware and software solutions

• Deploy and manage critical equipment including servers, firewalls, scanners, and security systems

• Conduct system upgrades, perform routine audits, and ensure effective backups and recovery processes

• Provide mentorship to junior team members and respond to server/network-related help desk tickets

• Deliver on-call and after-hours technical support on a rotational basis

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing IT infrastructure in an enterprise environment

• Advanced skills in PowerShell and MS Graph scripting

• Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to handle complex IT issues

• Committed to customer satisfaction and delivering timely, efficient solutions

• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills

• Must be available to work onsite in the Toronto office 1–2 times per week

Additional Notes:
The compensation range for this role is CAD 81,170.48 to 101,463.10 annually, with the potential to reach CAD 121,755.72 depending on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
