Senior Project Manager

Description:

Exciting Senior Project Manager/Leader opportunity (RQ10135) with Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. This onsite role manages complex public safety telephony projects across ambulance dispatch centres requiring public safety domain expertise, Avaya/P25 technologies, and enterprise software deployments with provincial travel.

Position Details

Client: Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement

Location: 5700 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario (Onsite + provincial travel to CACCs)

Start Date: April 1, 2026

End Date: March 31, 2027

Duration: 250 business days (Probable extension after initial mandate)

Hours: 7.25 hours per day (8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Mon-Fri)

Security Level: CRJMC

Must Haves
 

• Experience working in public safety environments (ambulance, fire, police)
• Experience with telephony/radio technologies: IP telephony, Avaya, P25
• Understanding of large-scale software deployments in enterprise environments
• Technical problem solving/root cause analysis skills
• Cross-functional stakeholder communication with political acuity for technical/non-technical audiences
   

Key Responsibilities
 

• Manage multiple projects/resources through full PM lifecycle meeting Health Service Cluster gating/architecture requirements
• Develop/execute project charters, integrated plans, schedules, communication plans
• Maintain project plans, communication plans, master schedules
• Participate in steering committees/stakeholder forums
• Provide executive-level project/portfolio reporting
• Issue/Risk Management: Identify/mitigate risks, report to Project Champions
• Develop/maintain product backlogs, manage Go/No-Go checkpoints
• Ensure business case development for long-term vendor contracts
   

Experience And Skill Set Requirements

Project Management Experience (35%):
 

• 10+ years PM experience delivering highly technical cross-functional projects
• Expert PMI/Agile methodologies knowledge
• Manage all phases of complex IT projects (concept→closeout)
• Project budgeting with fiscal control (estimates, forecasts, reconciliation)
• Agile/Waterfall SDLC, backlog grooming, scrum, release management (Jira/Confluence)
