Senior Project Manager

Description:

Ateko, supported by Bell Canada, is hiring a Senior Project Manager to join an important long-term initiative within a well-established insurance company. The client specializes in life, disability, individual and group insurance, and the position will play a vital role in delivering innovative solutions for multi-product distribution via broker channels.

This is a 12-month renewable contract with hybrid work flexibility—only requiring occasional onsite presence (once every 3 months). The role offers a unique opportunity to lead critical IT application and systems implementation projects while applying agile delivery methodologies to deliver iterative, high-impact business value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a major project to implement a new multi-product insurance distribution platform targeting broker channels, with future expansion to other offerings.

• Actively engage cross-functional IT teams, ensuring full alignment with the project strategy and objectives.

• Define and manage the project planning, costing, and scope, taking into account interdependencies, complexity, and integration with concurrent initiatives.

• Coordinate with business and technical contributors, ensuring efficient delivery and adherence to timelines, budgets, and expected outcomes.

• Maintain functional oversight of contributors involved in delivering the application and technology workstreams.

• Monitor and enforce performance standards, quality control, and adherence to technical norms, methods, and procedures.

• Apply agile thinking to drive quick, iterative results, promoting innovative solutions within a collaborative project environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to mobilize and inspire teams.

• Deep knowledge and experience in agile project delivery, particularly in IT transformation and systems implementation.

• Comfortable working in a regulated, high-stakes environment, ideally with experience in insurance, fintech, or similar domains.

• Ability to coordinate complex deliverables across multiple teams and vendors.

• Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset due to the project and client environment.
