Job Title: Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Location: Ontario, Canada across two locations (one unionized site)

Work Arrangement: On-site (Head Office)

Travel: ~10%

Reports to: VP, People & Engagement

Position Overview

This role supports the HR function across multiple manufacturing plants, including one unionized site. Acting as a strategic partner to plant leadership, the Senior HRBP will lead initiatives in labor relations, compliance, employee engagement, recruitment, payroll, training, compensation, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities

• Employee Engagement: Lead initiatives to improve morale, development, and retention.
• Labor Relations: Support union negotiations, grievance handling, and positive labor relations.
• Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee full-cycle onboarding; partner with TA on hiring strategies.
• Compliance & Policy: Ensure adherence to labor laws and internal policies; conduct audits.
• Payroll & Compensation: Partner with payroll to ensure accuracy; manage salary reviews and incentives.
• Performance Management: Guide leaders on feedback, goal setting, and development planning.
• HR Reporting: Track key HR metrics and provide insights to leadership.
• Training: Develop and deliver training to employees and front-line supervisors.
• Strategic HR Support: Align initiatives with broader HR and business goals in collaboration with VP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (MBA a plus)
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience; 3+ years at Senior HRBP/HRM level
• Experience in both union and non-union manufacturing environments
• Strong working knowledge of Ontario labor law
• Proficiency in HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now)

Preferred:

• Background in food packaging or plastics manufacturing
• Proven success driving engagement among hourly workers
• Experience managing collective agreements
