Description:
We have partnered with an established Engineering Consulting Firm who is looking to add a Senior Highway Engineer to their growing team. This is a full-time hybrid opportunity and is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling technical challenges while leading the design of transportation network projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preliminary and detailed design of transportation projects for the MTO.
- Prepare technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantity estimates and cost estimates.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Work in conjunction with local and regional teams to create and submit proposals for new highway project ventures.
- Foster deep relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Oversee consultants, subcontractors and field staff to ensure project timelines are met.
Requirements
- Licensed P.Eng. designation in Ontario.
- Minimum of 10 + years of experience in highway design projects with an MTO focus.
- Strong working relationship with the MTO.
- Experience preparing designs for multi-lane highways, collector roads, interchanges, and intersections.
- Proven experience with Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS), and drawings (OPSD), Transportation Association of Canada Standards (TAC), and MTO design standards.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.
