Junior Project Engineer

General Dynamics Mission Systems - Canada has a requirement for a Junior Project Engineer to join the International TacCIS group. The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) and the Program Manager (PM) in the execution of development, integration, test, and production, and export of Tactical Communication Systems for the Romanian Ministry of Defence.

In this role, you can expect to:

• Interface with departments withing GDMS-C; Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Operations, Product Line Management (PLM), Contracts in the production support of MESHnet product deliveries.
• Assist DPM/PM on responding to customer request for information and general queries
• Process and product improvements; identify opportunities to improve products and services, and processes and working with the DPM/PM drive those improvements
• Staying abreast and reporting on component obsolescence issues and material constraints effecting product builds.
• Reviewing project performance on a monthly basis, analyzing risks (technical, cost, schedule), initiating corrective action when required
• Assist DPM/PM on achieving project objectives that meet requirements, to schedule, and on budget.
• Supporting the Program Manager in the development and maintenance of business plans

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an interest in pursuing hardware engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or project management.

• Experience in hardware troubleshooting, along with a good knowledge of production processes and military standards would be an asset.
