Description:

CIBC is seeking a Senior Financial Advisor to join its Imperial Service Team in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. This client-facing role focuses on personalized financial planning and relationship-based service for a dedicated client portfolio. As part of the Personal and Business Banking team, you will provide comprehensive financial advice, help clients achieve their goals, and proactively manage and grow your book of business.

This full-time, on-site role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and to serve at multiple banking centres within a reasonable travel radius. You will utilize CIBC's robust tools and resources to engage clients, offer expert investment advice, and support their financial planning needs through a consultative and tailored approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver CIBC’s Imperial Service model by building lasting relationships with clients and providing expert financial advice.

  • Develop comprehensive, personalized financial plans based on client goals and current financial situations.

  • Cultivate new client relationships through networking, community involvement, and local market insight.

  • Leverage CIBC's full suite of investment, credit, and planning tools to deliver needs-based solutions.

  • Enhance CIBC’s brand by participating in community events and outreach initiatives.

  • Meet and exceed sales and service goals through proactive business development.

  • Work collaboratively with internal partners to deepen client engagement and expand relationships.

Qualifications:

  • 1.5–3 years’ experience in a financial advisory role with proven client portfolio management skills.

  • Current accreditation in good standing in one or more of the following:

    • CIRO-MFD stream: Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC), or Investment Funds in Canada Course (IFC), and must meet eligibility for CIRO-MFD licensing.

    • Quebec applicants: AMF licensing, CIFC/CSC, and Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC). Completion of CSI Investment and Taxation Fundamentals (0774) and Legal & Ethical Aspects of Financial Planning (0790) is an asset.

  • Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation required within 24 months of hire.

  • Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Passion for delivering exceptional client service and a results-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to work full-time on-site with flexibility for banking centre hours and travel.
