The Senior Analyst, Advanced Analytics (Citizen Data Scientist) plays a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive decision-making across Fidelity Canada ULC. Positioned within the Finance division’s Advanced Analytics team, this role involves designing, developing, and deploying advanced analytical solutions, working closely with IT, business units, and senior executives. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying machine learning and statistical techniques to solve complex business problems, assess sales and marketing effectiveness, and deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with business leaders to understand challenges, frame problems, and translate them into appropriate analytical solutions.

  • Drive alignment across stakeholders by balancing business needs with technical feasibility.

  • Ensure smooth execution and delivery of analytics solutions while managing expectations.

Analytics & Solution Development:

  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques such as regression, clustering, decision trees, affinity analysis, and time series forecasting.

  • Conduct analysis on sales campaigns, events, and marketing programs (e.g., A/B testing, pre- vs. post-campaign performance).

  • Research, prototype, and deploy AI/ML solutions; work on emerging analytics methods to improve business decision-making.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to operationalize models, ensuring seamless data integration, CI/CD pipelines, and production support.

  • Enhance visualization capabilities for leadership, sales, and marketing teams through tools like Tableau and Power BI.

  • Handle data engineering tasks, ad-hoc data requests, and periodic reporting with accuracy and efficiency.

Collaboration & Mentorship:

  • Mentor junior analysts by sharing expertise in AI/ML methodologies and analytics best practices.

  • Take independent ownership of projects, ensuring delivery of impactful outcomes with minimal supervision.

  • Support consistent, centralized analytics standards across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in advanced analytics and statistical modeling.

  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel.

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, engaging, and actionable insights for business stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of consumer intelligence, digital analytics, and marketing optimization techniques.

  • Familiarity with tools such as KNIME, SAS, SPSS, and Snowflake is an asset.

  • Exposure to Gen AI, NLP, and large language models is advantageous.

  • Strong communication, time management, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Background or interest in the financial services industry, particularly investment management, preferred.
