Road Technician

Description:

Équipements EMU, a growing and reputable company offering complete warehousing solutions, is seeking a Road Technician to join their service team in Québec. The company specializes in forklift trucks and warehouse storage systems (racking, shelving, etc.), and is recognized for delivering high-quality customer service. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, prefers job variety, and thrives on being mobile while interacting with clients.

The technician will work under the supervision of the Road Service Director and will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to assess and repair forklift machinery. The position includes diagnosing issues, carrying out mechanical repairs, and ensuring thorough documentation of service tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel to clients’ locations to diagnose mechanical issues with forklift equipment.

• Provide clear explanations of required repairs and obtain client approvals before performing the work.

• Conduct timely and efficient repairs on various machinery.

• Maintain and document accurate service records and work orders.

• Manage and monitor the inventory and tools in the service truck.

Required Qualifications:

• A diploma in mechanics (e.g., heavy equipment, automotive, industrial mechanics, or electromechanics).

• At least 3 years of mechanical experience (preferred).

• Strong diagnostic skills in mechanical systems.

• Valid driver’s license is mandatory.

• Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, with good organizational and adaptation skills.

• Fluent in spoken and written French (95% of the job); intermediate English skills required for communication with anglophone clients (approx. 5%).

Working Conditions:

• Work Location: On the road, servicing clients in the Québec region.

• Job Type: Full-time, permanent.

• Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (day shift).

• Salary Range: CAD 27.00 to CAD 42.00 per hour (equivalent to CAD 4,680 – 7,280/month).
