Relationship Manager

Description:

The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is seeking a Relationship Manager – Business Financing to support Canadian entrepreneurs by providing tailored financing solutions and advisory services. As part of BDC’s mission to empower businesses with revenues between $3M and $50M, you will manage an existing client portfolio, foster strong relationships, and drive business success through personalized financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Meet with entrepreneurs, clients, and prospects to understand their business needs and provide tailored financial advice.
✅ Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate borrowers, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
✅ Develop and execute a marketing plan aligned with business objectives to expand client engagement.
✅ Analyze financial statements and assess business viability, structuring appropriate financing solutions.
✅ Negotiate and present financing proposals, exercising sound credit judgment.
✅ Ensure effective communication and relationship management, delivering value-added financial insights to clients.
✅ Implement business development strategies to identify new opportunities and expand market reach.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
✔️ Minimum 5 years of experience in business financing, sales, or financial advisory services.
✔️ Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial statements.
✔️ Professional accounting designation (CPA, CFA, etc.) is an asset.
✔️ Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
✔️ Excellent communication and negotiation skills for client engagement.
✔️ Well-organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing client portfolios.
✔️ Ability to develop and execute marketing strategies for business development.
✔️ Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (travel required).
