Calian Group, in proud partnership with the Department of National Defence (DND), is seeking a Registered Social Worker to join its healthcare team at the Canadian Armed Forces Health Services Centre in Cold Lake, Alberta. This is a temporary, full-time position offering work-life balance with daytime hours (7.5-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week), making it an ideal role for professionals seeking a structured and rewarding career.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver crisis interventions and conduct comprehensive risk assessments for individuals and families.
Conduct intake sessions and complete detailed bio-psychosocial assessments for a wide range of presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, family stress, work-related stress, and suicidal ideation.
Provide therapy through diverse modalities, including individual, couples, and group therapy, while evaluating therapeutic progress and outcomes.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to present client care and contribute to the development of personalized treatment plans.
Offer counselling and advice to clients and their families, guiding them toward appropriate services and community resources.
Facilitate group programs and educational sessions such as psychosocial education workshops, pre-deployment briefings, and mental health awareness activities.
Explore and implement innovative interventions, including telemedicine and virtual reality therapy, to enhance treatment approaches.
Promote mental health awareness through outreach initiatives and distribution of educational material to bases and units.
Maintain accurate, confidential client records and reports regarding treatment services and outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience working with adult populations, including conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing counselling services for a range of mental health conditions.
Active registration as a Social Worker with the provincial regulatory body in Alberta, with authorization (or willingness to obtain authorization) to perform psychosocial interventions.
Additional Requirements:
Eligibility to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
Current certification or willingness to obtain CPR Level C with AED.
