R&d Technician

Description:

Berean Group International, Inc. is seeking a skilled R&D Technician to support its Research & Development team in Ottawa, ON. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with IT teams, engineers, and lab users to ensure the smooth functioning of lab infrastructure and optimize resources for ongoing projects.

As an R&D Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing the lab network, physical assets, and software licenses while contributing to the improvement of lab usage efficiency. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a background in computer science or related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with IT teams and lab users to ensure optimal functioning of the R&D lab network.

• Troubleshoot and resolve subnet issues within the lab environment.

• Manage and maintain software licenses used by the R&D team.

• Optimize server resources to support the needs of engineering teams.

• Manage and track physical assets in the lab, maintaining an accurate asset database according to organizational guidelines.

• Identify opportunities to improve lab utilization and efficiency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

• Hands-on experience working within an R&D lab environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple technical responsibilities.

Compensation:

• Pay Rate: CA$28/hr

• Contract-based role with potential for extension based on performance and project needs.
