Procurement And Warehouse Manager

 

Description:

The Procurement and Warehouse Manager reports to the Director of Finance and oversees the purchasing and warehousing team across Canada. Overseeing the full lifecycle of purchasing, inventory control, and warehouse operations. This role ensures that materials, equipment, and supplies are sourced cost-effectively, delivered on time, and stored efficiently. The manager leads procurement activities, supervises warehouse staff, and maintains optimal inventory levels to support smooth business operations.

 

Key Responsibilities – Procurement

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost effective purchasing.

• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms.

• Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.

• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.

• Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and new supply opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

• Track and report on procurement KPIs such as cost savings, lead times, and supplier quality.

 

Key Responsibilities – Warehouse Management

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems to minimize discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of materials.
  • Optimize warehouse layout for efficiency and safety.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile variances.
  • Maintain equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Enforce workplace safety standards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

 

Leadership & Coordination

  • Supervise and train warehouse and procurement staff. (Direct Reports: approx. 5)
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and finance teams to ensure operational alignment.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare operational reports for senior management.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, warehouse management, or supply chain roles.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor‑management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Logistics & Working Conditions

  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to any of the required areas if outside of the map.
  • Eligible to work in Canada without restrictions (Citizens and valid PR holders only due to security clearance requirements)
  • Travel: required once a quarter
