As a Principal Software Engineer, you will help shape the future of online commerce, simplifying and optimizing the shopping experience for both retailers and consumers worldwide.

You will take ownership of the design, development, and support of Oracle retail commerce platforms, driving innovation and scalability. The role involves leading complex cross-functional projects, defining architecture, and enhancing product delivery within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will also act as a technical lead, mentoring others, ensuring system stability, and introducing best practices in software development and cloud integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support Oracle retail commerce systems and cloud-based platforms.

• Serve as a technical lead on large-scale, cross-functional projects.

• Analyze stakeholder use-cases and translate them into scalable, secure solutions.

• Enhance cloud platform performance using modern tools and architectures.

• Conduct root cause analyses for business and production issues.

• Implement and uphold development best practices within teams.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure system security and efficiency.

• Drive innovation in commerce system design to improve the user experience.

Key Requirements:

• Proven track record in designing and maintaining Java software systems at scale.

• Expertise in Java, Gradle, Groovy, and NodeJS.

• Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and web-based solutions.

• Familiarity with Tomcat, WebLogic, Jersey, Maven, and Java container environments.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud databases, and object storage systems.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities for distributed systems.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to act as a subject matter expert, staying updated on emerging technology trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in commerce or retail software platforms.

• Knowledge of scalable cloud architecture and performance optimization.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Fluency in English (French proficiency required for candidates in Quebec).

• Base Salary: CAD 76,700 – 167,600 per year (depending on experience and location).
