Role Overview

The Principal Product Manager will own the vision, strategy, and execution for Elastic’s cloud data ingestion, transformation, and routing products. The role focuses on Cloud-native Observability and Security user needs, ensuring integration with industry solutions like Confluent Kafka and Cribl, while driving adoption of Elastic's data pipeline products.

Key Responsibilities

• Define vision and roadmap for Data Plane products: OpenTelemetry, Logstash, Beats, Elastic Agent, cloud pipelines, hosted collectors

• Drive SaaS offerings for ingest products

• Partner with engineering on roadmap priorities and timelines

• Collaborate with downstream solution teams to align requirements and use cases

• Support Sales & Marketing with go-to-market strategy, messaging, competitive analysis

• Engage with customers and the community for feedback and insights

• Monitor market trends and competition to guide product direction

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading deeply technical data products in a growth stage

• Strong technical background in edge data collection, ETL for observability or security data

• Skilled in strategy execution and customer-first delivery

• High emotional intelligence (EQ), collaborative, open-minded leadership style

• Product management experience across multiple product lines

• Experience working with globally distributed teams and a diverse client base

Compensation

• Base salary range (general): $179,800 – $232,800 USD

• Base salary range (select U.S. locations): $211,900 – $273,500 USD

• No variable pay, but eligible for stock program

• 401(k) match up to 6% of earnings
