Elastic is looking for an outstanding product mind to join the Search team and help define the future of search at Elastic. The Search team is responsible for building the features, tools, and products that enable our customers to build great AI powered search experiences of their own. These search experiences span use cases from website search and intranet search, all the way to conversational chatbots or AI powered recommendations and entire applications with search as a core part of the development stack, using the latest advances in machine learning and semantic search to support the most sophisticated of needs. As a Principal Product Manager your focus will be to understand the goals of users who are crafting these search experiences and help define and prioritize the delivery of impactful large scale features that ensure their success.

What You Will Be Doing
 

  • Working alongside our software engineers, platform and design team to define product features and initiatives across the Search product for the broad set of search use cases.
  • Representing the complete set of personas that use the product and ensure that the flows are coherent across the various personas and life-cycle of product usage.
  • Prioritizing the components of the product roadmap and helping ensure feature development can proceed efficiently.
  • Gathering market data, customer feedback, customer usage data, and other key information to develop product insights and help drive the product roadmap.
  • Meeting with existing and prospective customers to better understand their goals and gather feedback on how our products can best address their challenges.
  • Assisting with Product Marketing efforts to develop messaging and collateral and deliver that information to stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Assembling market data, customer feedback, customer usage data, and other key information to develop product insights and help drive the product roadmap.
  • Analyzing and addressing competitive dynamics within the product category.
     

What You Bring Along
 

  • Proven experience in Product Management, preferably in a developer-focused product environment.
  • Outstanding spoken and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of SaaS and/or IaaS product domains, including common design patterns, workflows, and delivery mechanisms.
  • Empathy for customer challenges and needs, turning them into opportunities in the short and long-term.
  • Experience building customer value and highlighting competitive differentiation through packaging and pricing.
  • A marked interest in new market-defining technologies such as vector search algorithms and machine learning is highly regarded! Expertise in machine learning, GenAI, RAG is a plus but also not required.
  • Direct product management experience building search and/or modern workplace productivity products is helpful but not required.
