Mercor, a San Francisco–based company that connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs, is hiring a Personal Shopper (Stylist & Personal Shopper) on a fully remote, independent contractor basis. Backed by investors such as Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D’Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey, Mercor provides a unique opportunity to contribute to fashion-driven AI research projects while working with flexible schedules.

The Personal Shopper will collaborate with an AI research lab to design, test, and refine shopping-assistant AI systems, helping to shape the future of personalized retail experiences. This role is part-time (~20 hours/week) for a 5-week engagement, with potential lucrative bonuses for high-performing contributors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design realistic shopper profiles and high-quality prompts to train AI systems.

• Evaluate advanced AI shopping assistants using detailed evaluation rubrics.

• Develop retail-related assets, including inventory scorecards and product content libraries.

• Collaborate with AI research teams to enhance product recommendation accuracy and personalization.

• Work independently and asynchronously, ensuring high-quality outputs and meeting deadlines.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of proven experience in celebrity styling, editorial styling, retail buying, merchandising, or e-commerce.

• Strong trend-spotting and brand benchmarking skills with deep fashion industry knowledge.

• Ability to create structured retail assets such as campaign ROI reports.

• Excellent written English with high attention to detail.

Engagement Details & Benefits:

• Pay: $35–$50/hr (USD), depending on experience.
