Mental Health Counsellor

Description:

Insight Collective is looking for a Psychotherapist or Mental Health Counsellor to join their compassionate and collaborative team. This flexible, casual role involves providing 1-1 virtual or in-person support to individuals in Niagara Falls, Simcoe, St. Catharine’s, and Hamilton who are preparing for, entering, or maintaining employment. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide short-term individual counselling and therapeutic support to clients.

• Conduct assessments and collaboratively develop care or treatment plans.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards.

• Coordinate care with program staff and/or employment service providers as needed.

• Uphold ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.

Qualifications:

• Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field.

• Registered and in good standing with a relevant professional regulatory body (e.g., CRPO).

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in mental health counselling or psychotherapy.

• Experience working with diverse populations, including equity-deserving groups.

• Knowledge of mental health frameworks such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills.

• Assets (Not Required): Fluency in a second language, familiarity with case management or community-based mental health services.
