Mechanic Technician

 

Description:

The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Technician will be responsible for maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and air conditioning systems on trucks and trailers. The role ensures optimal performance, safety, and compliance with current standards. The technician will handle advanced diagnostics, analyze electrical schematics, repair systems, and maintain general vehicle components including brakes, transmission, engine, suspension, and steering.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy vehicle systems including mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and climate control.

  • Use advanced computer diagnostic tools to identify electrical and electronic faults.

  • Interpret electrical diagrams to troubleshoot and repair issues.

  • Repair electrical circuits, sensors, actuators, and control systems.

  • Work with anti-pollution systems such as EGR, SCR, and DEF.

  • Diagnose and repair ABS braking systems.

  • Identify faults and replace parts in pneumatic systems.

  • Maintain hydraulic circuits.

  • Service and repair vehicle air conditioning systems.

  • Conduct general maintenance on brakes, transmissions, engines, suspensions, and steering systems.


Required Technical Skills:

  • Advanced use of diagnostic computer tools.

  • Ability to read and analyze electrical schematics.

  • Proficient in electrical/electronic system repairs.

  • Knowledge of emission control technologies.

  • Expertise in ABS brake systems.

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic system maintenance skills.

  • Air conditioning system maintenance skills.

  • General mechanical system maintenance.

  • Valid heavy vehicle driver’s license (C, CE) preferred.
