Materials & Procurement Planner

Description:

The Materials & Procurement Planner is responsible for procurement, material planning, and delivery coordination to ensure timely availability of materials for production.

Responsibilities
 

• Managing supplier product quality, design, specifications and manufacturability to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and compliance with Valmet Vendor Quality Standards.
• Maintain assigned Purchase Orders (PO) from the initial order through receipt and invoice processing.
• Develop and manage business relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Track deliveries scheduled to forecast inventory levels and respond by accelerating or delaying deliveries required.
• Responsible to maintain and optimize inventory levels.
• Work with the design and engineering teams to find new materials required in the development of new products and submit to engineering department, new materials to reduce costs.
• Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate logistics and expedite urgent shipments.
   

Expectations

A college’s degree in engineering technology (Mechanical, Industrial or Aerospace) or supply chain management with prior work experience in supply management and manufacturing purchasing.

Good communication and organization skills

Advanced skill with computer and ERP/MRP systems.
