Description:
Planit Construction is seeking an experienced Traveling Site Superintendent to oversee construction projects across the United States. This position is ideal for a hands-on construction professional who enjoys traveling and managing jobsites from mobilization through completion.
The Traveling Superintendent will oversee retail and commercial projects, coordinating subcontractors, crews, vendors, inspections, schedules, safety, and quality while serving as the primary field leader on each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel throughout the U.S. to manage construction projects
- Supervise daily jobsite activities for retail, commercial
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, deliveries, and inspections
- Manage project schedules and communicate progress and potential delays
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
- Enforce company and OSHA safety requirements
- Conduct jobsite meetings and maintain daily construction reports
- Review plans, drawings, and project specifications
- Coordinate with Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Identify and resolve field issues efficiently
- Manage punch lists, final inspections, and project closeout
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
- Represent Planit Construction professionally with clients and project partners
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction experience, with previous Superintendent experience preferred
- Experience with retail, commercial
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling and jobsite coordination
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Procore or other construction management software experience preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
