What you will do:

The Manager, Social Media reports to the Senior Manager, Social Media and works with the Cineplex’s internal Social, Marketing, Food & Beverage, Creative Services and Guest Services teams, and external partners to develop, plan and execute engaging social first content for our location-based entertainment channels, The Rec Room and Playdium.

We’re looking for a strategic creative thinker who has deep roots in internet culture and knows how to leverage insights and trends to create organic and paid content across our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube channels. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of social media best practices to inform strategy, improve and create process and manage a high volume of assets to deliver projects on time that meet defined marketing goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage The Rec Room and Playdium social media channels including ownership of the editorial calendar, publishing content and leveraging Sprinklr to schedule and tag all posts to ensure accurate monthly reporting
  • Drive positive fan engagement and conversation through community management and collaborate with the Guest Services team on escalations and opportunities.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Social Media in the development and continued evolution of the social media strategy for both The Rec Room and Playdium.
  • Work in conjunction with the Senior Manager, Social Media in leading always-on content ideation and execution supported by in-house creative teams and agency partnerships.
  • Liaise with the marketing team and other internal and external stakeholders to curate and execute social posts as it pertains to upcoming campaigns, initiatives and social led activations.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in arts, marketing, advertising and/or journalism or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Considerable experience working in agency, editorial, media and/or marketing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with content management and analytics platforms such as Sprinklr, AirTable, etc
  • Strong understanding of consumers and media consumption habits along with target audiences/consumer profiling and devising strategies that engage, inform, and drive the business
  • Creative and strategic thinker with experience executing content creation, storytelling, media planning and social/digital
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, their respective audiences, and best practices for content creation and engagement
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a passion for social media marketing
  • Content creation experience (Short-Form Video Editing, Canva, Photoshop, etc) is a strong asset
