Labourer, Water Services

Description:

The incumbent provides general labouring duties for Water and Waste Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide general labourer duties including to assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of water distribution wastewater stations and systems including but not limited to: laying and back-filling of pipes and culverts, clearing plugged or frozen pipes, shoveling, clearing brush, custodial duties, landscaping, painting etc.

• Pick up and deliver materials and tools as needed between sites or from point of supply to site as directed.

• Clean work area during and following completion of tasks, cleans and organizes shop as directed.

• Observe and reports issues to appropriate staff.

• Prepare and maintain accurate records.

• Perform flagging and traffic control duties.

• Follow, so far as is reasonably practicable, established safety procedures and standards.

• Act in other Water Services positions, including Warehouse, as assigned.

• Other related duties.
