Journeyperson Class A Gasfitter

Description:

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is seeking a Journeyperson Class A Gasfitter to join their dynamic team in Airdrie, Alberta. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for skilled tradespeople with a strong background in temporary heating systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Responsibilities include:

• Installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining gas lines and related equipment such as meters, regulators, and heating units.

• Troubleshooting equipment issues on job sites, in the shop, or over the phone.

• Testing, replacing, and certifying equipment rated over 400,000 BTU.

• Performing annual inspections, servicing, and repairs of construction heaters.

• Advising clients on safety features and maintenance of gas units.

• Documenting all service and repair activities accurately.

• Conducting daily hazard assessments and equipment checks.

• Assisting with delivery, pick-up, loading, and unloading of equipment.

• Ensuring customer satisfaction through professional service delivery.

• Complying with all health and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Journeyperson Gas Fitter A Ticket.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with temporary heating systems.

• Proficiency in working with natural gas, propane, and diesel equipment.

• Familiarity with various types of heaters (direct/indirect fired, hydronic, electrical).

• Strong knowledge of LP/NG safety codes, permitting, and installation practices.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and building plans.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record (no more than 3 demerits).

• Ownership of a complete set of tools (or in the process of acquiring).

• Willingness to work overtime and participate in an on-call rotation, especially during winter.

• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.

• A self-motivated attitude with minimal supervision required.
