Java Full Stack Architect

Description:

Burgeon IT Services is seeking a highly experienced Java Full Stack Architect for a long-term onsite contract role in Toronto, ON. The position requires a seasoned professional with over 10 years of full stack development experience in financial and wealth management domains. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in backend development, frontend frameworks, database management, cloud platforms, DevOps, and testing.

This role demands deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications. The candidate should be well-versed in both architectural design and hands-on development, ensuring end-to-end delivery of robust software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level full stack applications.

• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot (REST APIs and microservices).

• Implement application security, authentication, and authorization best practices (experience with identity providers such as Okta).

• Develop rich and responsive frontend applications using Angular (RBC’s RIG framework knowledge is a plus).

• Work with NoSQL databases to design efficient data storage and retrieval mechanisms.

• Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit to ensure software quality.

• Utilize build tools such as Maven and collaborate on CI/CD pipelines. (Exposure to RBC’s Helios framework is an advantage).

• Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Work with Azure Cloud to design scalable cloud-native solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver software aligned with business goals.

• Provide architectural guidance, code reviews, and mentoring to development teams.
