AMA – Alberta Motor Association is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriter II to join their team in a hybrid role based in Kingsway. In this position, you’ll work alongside a collaborative team of underwriters and agency advisors to evaluate risk, apply underwriting guidelines, and balance both member needs and business objectives.

You’ll be instrumental in reviewing and processing policy transactions, applying sound judgment in risk assessment, and ensuring underwriting excellence while maintaining a high level of service aligned with AMA’s “Treat You Like Friends & Family” (TYLF) culture. You'll play a critical role in ensuring profitable growth and operational efficiency, while also supporting other departments through your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report directly to the Director of Underwriting Operations

• Verify and adjust policy transactions, and communicate changes effectively

• Analyze risks, request additional info when needed, and make informed underwriting decisions

• Review claims and take appropriate actions

• Collaborate with internal teams including Claims, Agency, and other departments

• Deliver empathetic, clear communication to both internal stakeholders and clients

• Identify gaps in insurance coverage and recommend solutions

• Maintain a high level of accuracy, ethical practice, and adaptability to change
