Description:
Revenu Québec is seeking motivated Inspection Technicians to join their team on a permanent basis. Positions are primarily based on-site in the Greater Saguenay Metropolitan Area, with additional offices located in Québec City, Montréal, Saint-Raymond, and Jonquière. The role also involves extensive fieldwork across the province of Quebec.
Inspection Technicians at Revenu Québec play a critical role in ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations across various economic sectors including restaurants and bars, tourism accommodation, paid passenger transportation, tobacco, and fuel industries.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, confidence, diplomacy, and negotiation abilities to handle sensitive inspection situations professionally and maintain constructive dialogues. Integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site and remote inspections to review supporting documents and verify compliance with fiscal laws
Use specialized equipment for data analysis and fuel sample collection
Enter and inspect business premises, immobilize vehicles in compliance checks for fuel and passenger transport sectors
Educate and inform stakeholders about their legal obligations
Issue infraction notices or prepare reports for legal prosecution when necessary
Serve as a witness in court proceedings when required
Required Qualifications:
College diploma (DEC) or equivalent, preferably in fields such as:
Police techniques
Legal techniques
Delinquency intervention
Criminology intervention
Business management
Administration
Accounting and finance
Or another technical diploma with at least one year of relevant experience
Valid Class 5 driver's license with safe driving experience adapted to Quebec’s road conditions
Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid Canadian work permit
If diploma obtained outside Canada, an official comparative evaluation of studies from the Quebec Ministry of Immigration is mandatory

Work Conditions:
Mainly daytime work but may include evenings, weekends, and travel throughout Quebec
Uniform provided upon hiring
