Infrastructure Solution Architect

VTRAC Consulting Corporation is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Solution Architect (AWS, Infrastructure) for a permanent hybrid role in the Greater Toronto Area. The Solution Architect will serve as a strategic advisor for AWS architecture and best practices, playing a key role in cloud transformation initiatives, governance frameworks, and modernization strategies. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS infrastructure in line with organizational goals and compliance standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, operations, development, and leadership, to deliver optimized cloud solutions.

• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) through Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

• Define and maintain reference architectures, network topologies, and IAM/security policies across hybrid environments.

• Lead and manage cloud infrastructure projects, including cloud migration planning and integration with on-premises systems.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to teams on AWS best practices, architecture modernization, and cost optimization strategies.

• Oversee performance, vendor relations, budget planning, and contract management related to cloud services.

• Implement monitoring, disaster recovery, and operational excellence frameworks in compliance with governance requirements.

Skills and Requirements:

• 10+ years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in AWS cloud architecture and engineering.

• Proficiency in AWS core services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch.

• Strong background in networking, including VPC, VPNs, Direct Connect, routing, and firewalls.

• Experience with containerization technologies such as EKS, ECS, and Kubernetes.

• Practical knowledge of DevOps CI/CD pipelines (Git-focused).

• Expertise in Terraform and/or CloudFormation for automation and infrastructure provisioning.

• Deep understanding of security best practices, compliance standards, and identity management.

• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related IT discipline.
