Information Technology Manager

ACCIONA, a global leader in sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy, is hiring an Information Technology Manager to oversee IT operations for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (ECWE) Project, one of Toronto’s most significant infrastructure developments. This 9.2-kilometre light rail extension includes seven new stations and advanced rail systems, designed to transform urban mobility, reduce emissions, and support sustainable growth in the region.

As the IT Systems Manager, you will lead the IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems administration, and support services across construction project sites. This hands-on leadership role requires deep technical expertise, strong vendor coordination skills, and the ability to align IT solutions with construction workflows, while mentoring a high-performing IT team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure at construction project sites, including network systems, applications, hardware, and production equipment.

• Provide advanced desktop support to project staff, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient problem resolution.

• Oversee cybersecurity protocols to safeguard project data and assets.

• Administer field applications and construction management software to support project workflows.

• Lead IT system setups for project offices and sites, including networks, boardroom equipment, and workstation connectivity.

• Develop and maintain documentation: system processes, network diagrams, and IT inventory.

• Deliver user training on IT systems, cybersecurity, and best practices.

• Manage user access, permissions, and security protocols across IT platforms.

• Coordinate with joint venture (JV) partners, vendors, and service providers to align IT operations.

• Oversee budget planning and cost control for IT systems, hardware, and services.

• Implement and monitor disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity.

• Provide leadership, mentoring, and career development for IT team members.

• Stay updated on technological advancements, recommending improvements to optimize system performance and efficiency.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in IT system support or IT management, ideally in construction or large-scale project environments.

• Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified) strongly preferred.

• Additional certifications in system support or network administration considered an asset.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, SharePoint, Teams, and cloud services.

• Experience with construction management software and IT project planning.

• Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices.

• Proven leadership skills with experience managing IT teams and vendors.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Skills & Abilities:

• Budget management and cost forecasting for IT operations.

• Disaster recovery planning and implementation expertise.

• Ability to negotiate and manage IT vendor contracts.

• Strong troubleshooting and desktop/network administration skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

• Ability to manage multiple IT priorities in a fast-paced, project-based environment.
