Hourly Line Cook

Description:

Cineplex is seeking an Hourly Line Cook for its TRR Granville location in Vancouver, BC. The Cook will be responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment. This role requires teamwork, adherence to safety protocols, and a high threshold for heat and physical demands in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare food items in pantry, fry, or other kitchen stations according to restaurant guidelines

• Follow clean-as-you-go requirements and maintain sanitation standards

• Adhere to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications

• Restock and maintain kitchen stations; clean and organize walk-in coolers and storage areas

• Assist with preparation for customers with food allergies or intolerances

• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules

• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely

• Demonstrate flexibility by filling open shifts as needed

• Report accidents, incidents, or policy infractions promptly

• Serve food in proper portion sizes and temperatures

Qualifications & Skills:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent; professional diploma or food service management preferred

• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation standards

• Effective communication, teamwork, and time management skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in high-temperature kitchen environments

• Provincial alcohol certification where applicable

• Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, email)

Work Conditions:

• Standing 100% of the time

• Exposure to heat, cold, and water; manual dexterity required for knives and kitchen appliances

• Extended hours as required
