Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is seeking a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join their professional and customer-focused team in the Greater Sudbury Metropolitan Area. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of construction equipment including earth-moving machinery, compaction equipment, telehandlers, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts. This position involves performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, making necessary repairs, and testing equipment to ensure proper performance.

The role also requires maintaining detailed documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders in a timely manner while adhering strictly to the company’s Health and Safety Policies. Qualifications and Requirements:

• Journeyperson certification preferred, or minimum 3rd-year apprentice.

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience on construction equipment.

• Valid Class 5 license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract.

• Must possess a complete set of tools or be in the process of building one.

• Willingness to work overtime and attend service calls as needed.

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.

• Familiarity with computer applications and diagnostic tools.

• Strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Flexibility to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Commitment to safety and pride in workmanship.

• Must be willing to complete pre-access drug & alcohol testing when required.
